Scope and Content

This collection contains various materials saved by Gladys Swords including newspaper clippings of weddings and miscellaneous topics of interest to her. Also in the collection are programs from several churches in Atlanta, Georgia. There are correspondence and personal papers relating to Gladys Swords as well. All of these materials were placed at random between the pages of an otherwise empty scrapbook.

Scope and Content The collection is comprised of the personal papers of Marel Brown from 1932-1977. Newsletters, newspaper clippings, printed material, programs, reviews, and a transcript, from 1939 to 1971, pertain to Brown’s activities as a writer and to public relations concerning several of her books, including Fence Corners, Hearth-Fire, Red Hills, and The Shape of a Song.
