Scope and Content

This collection is comprised of records pertaining to the organization and administration of the Burns Club of Atlanta and the Ladies' Burns Club of Atlanta. Records include legal documents, correspondence, membership lists, program information, and pamphlets. Topics include the construction of the Burns Cottage, the Annual Anniversary Dinner, club operations, and poetry written by club members.

This collection consists of images of the Burns Club of Atlanta and Ladies' Burns Club members, as well as photographs of the Burns Cottage. Of particular note is a poster advertising the organization's second annual Cèilidh, a traditional Scottish social event. All photographs were taken in Atlanta, Georgia.

Scope and Content The collection is comprised of the personal papers of Marel Brown from 1932-1977. Newsletters, newspaper clippings, printed material, programs, reviews, and a transcript, from 1939 to 1971, pertain to Brown’s activities as a writer and to public relations concerning several of her books, including Fence Corners, Hearth-Fire, Red Hills, and The Shape of a Song.
