Scope and Content

This collection consists of originals and photocopied cards, letters and newspaper clippings concerning major events in the Hill/Payne families. Included are several consolatory letters to Mrs. Laura N. Hill on the death of her husband, Mr. W. Rhode Hill, and to Mrs. J. Carroll Payne on the death of her mother, Mrs. Laura N. Hill. Photocopied newspaper clippings regarding the Payne-Smith and the Payne-Hopkins weddings are included in the collection.

Scope and Contents of the Records This collection is a blend of photographs that includes images of businesses in Atlanta, Georgia, and portraits of individuals. Some of the businesses include Buick Motor Company, Chevrolet Motor Company, Southern Agricultural Corporation, West Lumber Company, Seydel-Wooley Company, Silvers Brothers Company, Dahl’s Florist, Exposition Cotton Mills, Cathcart Van and Storage Company, Westview Cemetery, and Blackman Health Resort, which was a sanitarium.
