This collection consists primarily of letters, dated 1894-95, to or from Flournoy Rivers (born 1858) and/or John Flournoy Henry (seventh generation) researching history of the Flournoy family in America following request sent to all known Flournoys.

Scope and Content The bulk of this collection consists of papers and copies of letters, receipts, and other documents amassed by Martha Pearson Cook Winship and her daughter: Anna Eliza Flournoy. The files largely consist of genealogy on the Winship and Flournoy families with sources of information that include newspaper clippings, tributes from United Daughters of the Confederacy, and correspondence.
