This collection contains the official legal records of the lawsuit Barrie Naismith vs. Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA). Included are affidavits, correspondence, depositions, drafts, legal research, pleadings, and PGA-published material. This collection documents the discrimination Barrie Naismith Jeffcoat faced as a female athlete who was not allowed to become a member of the PGA until pursuing legal action. She was represented by R. Lawrence Ashe (1940- ), a civil rights and employment attorney employed by Kilpatrick Townsend and Stockton LLP in Atlanta, Georgia.
