Scope and Content
This series contains minutes, correspondence, clippings, and a report which provide details of the operations of the Department of Parks. Much of the material was produced or collected by George I. Simons, General Manager of the Parks Department. Clippings provide information on the Atlanta Zoo (later Zoo Atlanta), the Atlanta Cyclorama, and various parks. Of particular note is a report by Simons which describes the history of the Atlanta park system and provides an assessment of parks as of 1952.
