Atlanta Arts Alliance, 1964
Scope and Content
This series consists of administrative and marketing records of the Atlanta Music Club and its subsidiary organizations collected between 1915 and 2011. The bulk of the materials date from the 1940s to the 1970s, however, Executive Board meetings from the 1920s and 1930s are well represented. Financial records consist mostly of annual reports. Also included are legal records pertaining to a civil lawsuit brought by the Atlanta Music Club against Marvin McDonald for his use of the name "All Star Concert Series" when he was no longer associated with the club. Among the concert series programs, the bulk pertain to the All Star and Membership Series. Of the several subsidiary organizations included in this series, the Atlanta Community Orchestra, later known as the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, is the best represented with three scrapbooks and a number of organizational records such as rosters, press releases, meeting minutes, and annual reports.
