This series contains information related to historic sites in the South and mid-Atlantic states, with an emphasis on gardens and landscape features. Subseries 1 includes information about historic sites mainly in Southern and mid-Atlantic states. Subseries 2 includes information related to sites in Georgia. The most abundant information in the series relates to Ferrell Gardens at the Hills and Dales Estate in LaGrange, Georgia. This material includes a Historic Landscape Report compiled by Cothran's students at Georgia State University. In general, the information in this series consists primarily of student papers, some of which include copies of photographs. Brochures, newsletters, and photocopies of journal articles are also included.
