Administrative/Biographical History

The Garden Hills Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, was originally established in 1927 as the Garden Hills Women's Club. The club was revived in 1972, with the goals "to make Garden Hills a safe, unique, and beautiful place to call home." The club joined the Sears Garden Center in 1972 and The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. in 1973. The club is governed by elected officers such as president, vice president, and treasurer. In 1973, the club hosted the neighborhood's first annual Ice Cream Social to raise money for the beautification of the traffic islands in the Garden Hills area. The club also raises money through a variety of events to support local services such as the fire station, police precinct, Garden Hills Elementary School, and the Buckhead Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System.
