Administrative/Biographical History

The Sharondale Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, was organized in 1958 to "stimulate among amateurs the knowledge and love of gardening, the study and culture of flowers, landscape gardening, and to better our community with the knowledge received from this study." The club was governed by elected officers such as president, vice-president, and treasurer. As a civic project, the club maintained the greenspace triangle at the intersection of Birchwood Drive and Arlene Way in the Garden Hills neighborhood. The club supported many HANDS (Home and Neighborhood Development Sponsors) projects and was an active member of the Fulton Federation of Garden Clubs. The club also hosted and participated in numerous flower shows, winning many awards.
