Civil War morning reports scrapbook
Scope and Content
This collection contains a scrapbook made out of a Civil War morning reports book from 1864, which contains written records of several officers of the 2nd Division, 15th Army Corps Detachment of Tennessee. The book is labeled as "M. E. Whitehurst's Scrapbook" and includes additions such as a newspaper page and clippings, the majority of which contains poems; an 1874 Walker and Watson advertisement; a 1917 "Farmer's Bulletin" on nutrition from the United States Department of Agriculture; fragments of a handwritten note; one page from a hymnal; and a 1923 postcard, birthday card, and letter addressed to Robbie, "Mrs. Henry P.," Whitehurst (1895-1989), the wife of Henry Purifoy (1887-1969).
