Scope and Content

This collection contains material about Easy Company 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, including the paratroopers' training, reunions, and their fictional depiction in the television miniseries Band of Brothers. Included in the collection is a reproduced scrapbook containing photographs and articles about their service from World War II. There is also a pamphlet containing historical background printed for the reunion held in 2000, a 2003 reunion agenda, an inTIME magazine article titled Band of Brothers, and a brochure from the Toccoa Stephens County Historical Society Museum.

Administrative/Biographical History

Easy Company (or Company E) of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment served under the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army during World War II. They trained at Camp Toccoa, located in Toccoa, Georgia, near Currahee Mountain. The unit fought in many battles on the Western Front including the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge in Belguim, and were the basis for the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, which depicts their military missions during the war.
