Scope and Content

This collection includes a lease, 1928 sales contract, warranty deed, affidavits, tax returns, newspaper clippings, and correspondence pertaining to the sale of 84-86 Whitehall Street and 111-115 Hunter Street in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 26, 1928. The properties were known as the Davis property and sold to W.T. Grant Realty Corporation. Also included are Oscar S. Davis' University of Georgia mementos, including 1884-1894 commencement programs, advertisements for a lecture, an 1888 class album, list of members and officers of his sophomore class, and copies of the The University Reporter, July 1887-June 1888.

Administrative/Biographical History

The property located at 84-86 Whitehall Street SW and 111-115 Hunter Street, known as the Davis property, was owned by various descendants of Charles A. Davis, Sr. On October 26, 1928, this property was sold to the W.T. Grant Realty Corporation. The property was leased to M. Rich and Brothers Company.
