Willcox family papers
Scope and Content
This collection contains family correspondence; a copy of the Atlanta Journal and other newspaper clippings; eyesight and speedwriting examination sheets; a composition notebook; a notepad; and a recipe book containing handwritten recipes, newspaper and magazine clippings, and a pamphlet with dietary recommendations from the Atlanta branch of Pat Walker’s Figure Perfection Salons, International. This collection also contains materials pertaining to specific members of the Willcox family, such as event programs and invitations; Daniel Willcox’s papers from a Charles Atlas fitness course; and Charles Willcox's financial papers from the Atlanta bank, Citizens and Southern National Bank.

Administrative/Biographical History
Charles Langdon Willcox (1875-1949) was born in South Carolina to John Woodson Willcox (1850-1920) and Lovie Virginia Mobley (1855-1900). His wife, Mae Hendricks Daniel (1883-1959), was born in Georgia to Robert Gray Daniel (1860-1934) and Beulah Pauline Dwelle (1858-1948). Willcox and Mae had three children: Marie (1903-?), Charles (1909-?), and Daniel. In 1924, Marie graduated from the Mount Vernon Seminary School in Washington, D.C. Additional biographical information about the Willcox family has not been determined.
