Administrative/Biographical History
The Atlanta Glory was a professional women's basketball team active between 1996 and 1988. They were a member of the American Basketball League, which was formed as a competitor to the Women's National Basketball Association. The Glory's home court was the Morehouse College Forbes Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and their official colors were blue, red, and nugget gold. Members of the team included four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Teresa Edwards (1964-) and University of Georgia All-American Saudia Roundtree (1976-). Due to low attendance and a poor overall playing percentage, the Atlanta Glory's last season was 1998. In 2008, the Atlanta Dream succeeded the Atlanta Glory as the next professional women's basketball team based in Atlanta as a member of the Women's National Basketball Association.
