Scope and Content

This collection contains documents from John Wesley and Betsy Mae Hardwick. Materials include club membership cards, a Masonic degree, and a Girl Scout handbook. The bulk of the membership cards are from two Masonic temples, the Yaarab Shrine and the Piedmont Lodge. Of particular note is Betsy Mae Hardwick's notebook that she used to record the Girl Scout badges that she earned.

Administrative/Biographical History

John Wesley Hardwick, Jr. (1907-1982) was born to John Wesley (1870-1945) and Maud C. Hardwick (1875-1955) in Atlanta, Georgia. Hardwick served in the United States Army in the 44th Infantry during World War II. He married Betty M. Hardwick (1919-1991) and they had one daughter, Betty (Betsy) Mae Hardwick (1940-1953). Additional biographical information has not been determined.
