The Hutton family lived in Savannah and spent most summers in McDonough with LaTrelle Bryan Hutton's parents. Alice LaTrelle (Trelle) Bryan was born in 1864, the daughter of George Whitfield Bryan (1840-1912), a Henry County statesman, and Cornelia Caroline Stokes (1842-1906). She and her two siblings, Percival A. Bryan, and Lois Bryan Strobar, grew up in McDonough (Henry County), Georgia. Percival Bryan died in 1893 at the age of twenty-six from an accidental gunshot wound to the head. Lois Bryan Strobar, who married Cecil Strobar, died in 1906 at the age of thirty-four from a long-term illness. On January 8, 1884, Trelle Bryan married Hugh Munroe Hutton. Hugh Hutton was born in Macon, Georgia, in 1858 and educated at Afton College, London. Born in Scotland, his father, John Shaw Hutton (1827-1876) moved to Savannah, Georgia, as a young man. In 1852, John Hutton married Harriet Tabitha Munroe (1832-1884) of Macon, Georgia. He was appointed United States Consul in Hanover in 1860. In 1861, he resigned his consulate and became a commercial representative for the Confederate government in Liverpool, England. After the war, he returned to Savannah. Hugh and Trelle Hutton lived in Savannah for most of their married life, where Hugh was a cotton borker. They had four surviving children: LaTrelle Hutton Robertson, Malcolm, Munroe, and Cornelia Bryan Hazelhurst. Their oldest child, Hugh Jr., died in 1887 at the age of three. In their later years, Hugh and Trelle Hutton moved to McDonough. Hugh Hutton died on November 25, 1929 and Trelle Hutton died on February 15, 1933.
