Administrative/Biographical History
Cecil James Holleran (1897-1956) was born to Owen Holleran (1857-?) and Fannie Holleran (1858-?) in Atlanta, Georgia. He married Lillian Denny Holleran (1902-1986) and they had one daughter, Barbara Holleran (1927-?). His brother, Owen C. Holleran (1893-?) was a pilot. Cecil James Holleran served in World War I and later became an illustrator and assistant publisher for the Atlanta Constitution. Holleran became heavily involved in the newspaper industry and traveled throughout Georgia visiting historic landmarks for content for his book, Know Your Georgia (1951).
