Scope and Content
This collection contains images of the Scarratt family, including Charles F. Scarratt, Jr., John Balsios Scarratt, and Edith H. Scarratt, along with photographs of their family businesses. Included are images of employees of the Scarratt Garage; men viewing boats at the Scarratt Boat Company; and images of the family's garage truck. Of special note are images of family members in class photographs at Ivy Street School, North Avenue Presbyterian School, and Highland Elementary School in Atlanta.

Administrative/Biographical History
Frances Scarratt McDaniel (1927-?) was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Charles F. Scarratt, Jr. (1899-1971) and Edith H. Scarratt (1901-1978). Her paternal grandparents, Charles F. Scarratt, Sr. and Mae Balsios Scarratt had two sons: Charles F. Scarratt, Jr. (1899-1971) and John Balsios Scarratt (1903-1960). Frances had one sibling, Charles F. Scarratt, III (1928-). The family operated Scarratt's Garage, which was a 24-hour service business with tow truck facilities, located at 588 Spring Street in Atlanta. The family also owned Scarratt's Boat Company which was only in operation for three years (1951-1954). Frances married Earl McDaniel on July 2, 1948.
