Scope and Contents

This collection contains landscape drawings, plant lists, concept and site plans, and surveys that provide details of work done by Richard Anderson Landscape Architect Inc., as well as earlier work with Daugherty/Anderson and Associates. The work of a few other architects is included such as Edward L. Daugherty and E. S. Draper. The majority of projects are of residential landscapes.

Biographical / Historical

Richard Anderson (1947- ) attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture. Anderson began working with landscape architect, Edward L. Daugherty, in 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia, and eventually they worked under the name Daugherty/Anderson and Associates. In 1995 Anderson started his own landscape design firm, Richard Anderson Landscape Architect Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia. His firm specializes in residential landscape architecture including small urban gardens and private estates. Anderson has won several awards for his designs including the 2008 and 2011 Shutze Award of the Southeastern Chapter of the Institute for Classical Architecture as well as the 2010 Palladio Award for Garden and Landscape Design. His designs have been featured in publications such as Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, Period Homes, and the Atlanta Constitution. In 2009 he married Viki Lauter (1955- ).
