Biographical / Historical
Fourth Tuesday, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 that supports the Metropolitan Atlanta Lesbian Community. The organization was incorporated in 1995, has been funded by charitable donations and member dues, and works in conjunction with the Health Initiative: Georgia's Voice for LGBTQ Health. It is governed by a board of directors that includes a chairperson, a secretary, a treasurer, and various directors. Membership is open to women who identify as lesbian or wish to support the lesbian community. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month and has held annual fundraising events for members such as the Fall Scramble golf tournament and Spring Fling party. Fourth Tuesday offered the Pat Hoban Memorial Scholarship for Atlanta lesbians seeking higher education and has supported civil rights issues.
