Scope and Contents
This collection contains correspondence, minutes, financial reports, newsletters, and membership directories from the Carolinas Dahlias Society (CDS). Also a part of the collection are annual dahlia show schedules, tuber sales promotional material, and membership materials from the American Dahlia Society. Of special interest are articles on dahlia growing and varieties. Much of the collection is from dahlia expert and member, Allen Haas, who served in various positions with CDS and the American Dahlia Society.

Biographical / Historical
The Carolinas Dahlia Society (CDS) was organized in 1986 to promote interest in dahlia growing and provide support to dahlia growers in North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. The society facilitates the exchange of ideas and information on dahlia culture, hosts dahlia shows, and holds annual tuber sales. Governed by member-elected officers such as president, vice president, and treasurer, CDS holds executive board, business, and member meetings. The society is a participating member of the American Dahlia Society and the Southern States Dahlia society.
