Scope and Contents
This collection contains material about Willie Burnice Greene’s missionary career. Material includes Greene's Bible, log books, and an identification card from the Executive Committee of Foreign Missions of the Presbyterian Church of the United States. In addition, there is a flyer; a program from a dedication ceremony; a packet about missionaries in Jeonju, South Korea. There are also two articles about Greene, one from The Korea Times, titled “Thoughts of The Times” by Dorothy Hopper, and another in The Peachtree Presbyterian newsletter.

Biographical / Historical
Willie Burnice Greene (1888-1986) was born in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia, to Alfred Franklin Greene (1857-1899) and Annie Kate Taylor (1867-1947). As a member of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church, she conducted missionary work in Korea and Japan for over 40 years. In addition, she wrote At Home in Foreign Fields. In 1984 Hanil Women's Theological Seminary, later called the Hanil Unviersity and Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Jeonju, South Korea, dedicated a library in honor of Greene. She returned to Atlanta before her death.
