Virgil Powers was a Bibb County railroad commissioner and was married to Ann E. Jenkins of Washington County, Georgia. The papers include bills and receipts, property deeds in Washington County; land grants in Effingham County, Wilkinson County, and Chatham County; deed with abstract and title from Pulaski County; an invitation; appointment of Virgil Powers as railroad commissioner; Jenkins family genealogy; correspondence; fire insurance policy; and biographical sketch of Virgil Powers.
