Administrative/Biographical History

The Chattahoochee Unit of the Herb Society of America (CUHSA) was formed in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, to further the knowledge and use of herbs and to promote cultural, civic, and educational projects relating to herbs. The unit is guided by the policies of the Herb Society of America and is governed by a board of elected officers that includes president, vice president, and secretary. The unit holds monthly meetings and hosts an annual plant sale at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The unit has supported several outreach projects at elementary schools, an annual Herb Education Day at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and educational programs held at various gardening events. The unit has participated in Atlanta flower shows with displays and demonstrations.
