Administrative/Biographical History

Tommie Dora Barker was born in 1888 to Thomas N. and Dora Elizabeth Lovejoy Barker. Miss Barker attended Agnes Scott College and graduated from the Carnegie Library School of Atlanta in 1909. She was head librarian, which also entailed direction of the library school at the Atlanta Carnegie Public Library. She was also the Dean, and later Director of the Emory University Library School.
