Included in this series are photographs of locomotives and automobiles largely dating from 1919 to 1921. There are several pictures of moving locomotives from across the state of Georgia. Photographed for three images were locomotives on the Southern Railway, established in 1894 as a major railroad in the South. By 1916, the Southern Railway had eight thousand miles of track and involved thirteen states. Lee provides photographs of three separate locomotives on the Southern Railway.
