Scope and Content This collection consists of John Whitehead's 1857 last will and testament. His will divided his private property and slaves among his children. His son, John R. Whitehead, and son-in-law, Thomas Berrien, who was a county commissioner and judge in Burke County, served as executors of the will. J. Edward Garlick signed the will as ordinary.
Scope and Content This diary contains handwritten entries by Tolliver Dillard, a farmer in antebellum Burke County, Georgia on the weather, expenses, crops, and illnesses. Also included are entries about the Know Nothing Party, and the state penitentiary in Milledgeville, Georgia.
