Scope and Content These papers consist of business and personal papers, including correspondence and financial records of Elijah A. Brown, Sr. and some of Elijah A. Brown, Jr. In addition, ther are papers pertaining to several Brown Family members, including Governor Joseph E. Brown, Julius I. Brown, and Marcus J. Brown.

Elijah Alexander Brown, Sr. papers

Scope and Content The Elijah Alexander Brown, Sr. papers primarily document the operation of Brownwood, the Brown family farm in Gordon County, Georgia. Much of the correspondence is from Elijah's father and mother. A few are letters to Elijah's father and one is to Elijah's brother, George Marion Brown. The legal documents contained in this collection mostly deal with Brownwood, as do the invoices and receipts. Finally, there are Brownwood Farm records and an illustrated storybook.

Felix Hargrett collection of Joseph E. Brown ephemera

Brown including a speech he gave in 1921 against the American Federation of Labor, a speech he gave at the Democratic National Convention in 1868, sheet music containing lyrics of songs about Brown, and an editorial about him.

Scope and Content This collection contains forty-two original letters written by A. T. Holliday to his wife, Elizabeth (Lizy). These letters were written between July 6, 1864 and September 10, 1864 during Mr. Holliday's service in the Georgia Militia in the Atlanta Campaign. Two additional letters in the collection were written by Elizabeth to A. T. Holliday during the same time period. Scope and Content This collection consists of a sales journal of land lots by Thomas L. Bishop, attorney at law, for Joseph E. Brown, of the "Brown Annex," which was located in District 22 (14th District) land lot 112, near the Exposition Cotton Mills. The sales journal lists the date of sale, a description of the land lot sold, the buyer's name, the amount paid by the buyer, and the expenses due in commission to Thomas L. Bishop. Scope and Content This collection contains papers of the Connally family, including legal documents such as the last will and testament of Thomas W. Connally; a mortgage deed for a home in Oakland City, an Atlanta neighborhood; records of property sales; tax receipts; an estate inventory; grocery receipts; correspondence; and a document issued by War Department of the Confederate States of America appointing Elijah L. Connally as Assistant Surgeon. Other records include newspaper clippings and travel guides.

Sally Eugenia Brown photograph album

Scope and Content The photograph album documents the travels of Sally Eugenia Brown from approximately 1890-1902. Identified photographs show the “Eden Fair” (location unknown) in September 1900; Mount Washington in New Hampshire; Saratoga, New York; and “Storyman Camp” (location unknown) in 1902. The remaining images include exterior views of building and homes, railroad trains and stations, streetcars, ships, and scenes of natural waterfalls. Of note are three albumen prints of Brown and her family.
