Scope and Content This collection consists of a list of casualties suffered by the 23rd Alabama Volunteer Infantry between May 7, 1864, and September 10, 1864, while engaged in combat at several locations in Georgia including Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca, New Hope Church, Marietta, Kennesaw Mountain, and Jonesboro. Scope and Content This collection consists of a journal kept by H. W. Santelle. It records the medical treatment of three patients he attended from 1863-1864. He notes their rank, age, regiment, company, injury, and battle where the injury was sustained. This collection contains copies of papers relating to Noel D'Alvigny's service as a physician. Included is a form of regulations covering medical fees adopted by Atlanta medical doctors; his diploma; a contract between the United States Army and D'Alvigny as a private physician; an 1865 special order assigning him to duty in charge of a hospital for refugees and freedmen in Atlanta; and a letter extolling his professional and military service to the Confederacy.
