This collection consists of John Whitehead's 1857 last will and testament. His will divided his private property and slaves among his children. His son, John R. Whitehead, and son-in-law, Thomas Berrien, who was a county commissioner and judge in Burke County, served as executors of the will. J. Edward Garlick signed the will as ordinary.

This diary contains handwritten entries by Tolliver Dillard, a farmer in antebellum Burke County, Georgia on the weather, expenses, crops, and illnesses. Also included are entries about the Know Nothing Party, and the state penitentiary in Milledgeville, Georgia.
