Scope and Content This collection contains many of Alex Hitz's business and personal papers. Included are sociel security records, tax return, military records, and general business papers, both private practice and city commission. Hitz also assembled a "Compilation of the State's Grantees to All Land Lots in Fulton County." A family history and genealogy records are also included. The collection also contains Hitz's collection of programs from various Atlanta Theaters.
Scope and Contents of the Records This collection consists primarily of the records of Central Atlanta Progress, Inc. The collection includes a small amount of material (1929-1952) from predecessor organizations: Central Atlanta Improvement Association, Greater Atlanta for Annexation, Inc, and the Central Marietta Street Association. The collection also includes early correspondence regarding the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railroad and the construction of viaducts and bridges in downtown Atlanta in the 1920s and...

Scope and Content This collection contains include tax returns, articles written by family members, programs, a bulletin, and newspaper clippings. Of particular note are recorded interviews with three members of the Smith family: Leroy Wingate (the uncle of Dorothy Smith Allen), Dorothy Smith Allen, and Robert Stuart Allen. The interviews detail growing up in Georgia during the Great Depression.
