Scope and Content

This collection consists of documents pertaining to the Apollo Room, interior decoration, and LGBT activism. These documents include Apollo Room travel brochures; an issue of House and Garden; and records documenting Stevens’s donations to Jerusalem House, a non-profit that housed low-income individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Of particular note is correspondence between Stevens and the Jerusalem House about building an HIV/AIDS clinic in Midtown.

Scope and Contents This collection contains photographs of Focal Point Inc.'s awards and recognitions, the staff and workshop, and the moldings they designed and manufactured. Examples of moldings and decorative medallions are shown after they were manufactured in the Focal Point workshop, or installed in residences and historic properties. This collection contains articles, certificates, and handwritten notes from the professional career of J. Newton Bell. Also included in the collection are landscape architecture contract templates and plant resources such as catalogs and tree lists. Of special interest is a proclamation by the mayor of the City of Griffin, designating February 17, 2005 as J. Newton Bell, Jr. Day.
