Mrs. Roy was born in Richmond, Virginia, and was the daughter of T. H. and Fanny Green Ellett. The diary contains entries regarding dinner and other social engagements and mentions such organizations as the Piedmont Driving Club, Druid Hills Club, Capital City Club, and the 19th Century History Class.
