This collection includes a typed transcription of a diary of Captain James Robert McMichael written while a prisoner-of-war. The collection also contains typed transcriptions of letters received while in prison at Fort Delaware, names of units of fellow prisoners, and their signatures, a poem by Captain Jas. R. George T. Willson letter

Georgia State Guard general order

Scope and Content

The Georgia State Guard document consists of General Order #18, appointing Surgeon E. J. Eldridge as Chief Surgeon of the Georgia State Guard. The order, dated December 1, 1863 was issued by command of Major General Howell Cobb, and signed by R. J. Hallett, A. A. (Acting Assistant) General.
