This collection contains papers from the Alston and Glenn families of Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. These families were joined by marriage when Jack Glenn married Anne Amanda Alston in 1935. The Alston family papers include correspondence and legal documents pertaining to several generations of Alstons. Scope and Content
This collection contains three land grants for land lots 230, 231, and 244, adjoining properties in the 17th District in Henry County, Georgia (later Fulton County, Georgia). Lot 231 was registered by Alston H. Greene of DeKalb County, Georgia in 1833 and had an irregular lottery size of 183 acres. Lot 230 was registered by John Hopkins of Emmanual County, Georgia in 1823, and lot 244 was registered by Barnett R. Wadkins of Franklin County, Georgia in 1823.
