Scope and Contents note From the Series: This series includes photographs of Hughes Spalding Pavilion, the facility for African American patients and physicians at Grady Memorial Hospital that opened in 1952 and closed in 1989. The facility re-opened in 1992 as Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital and serves Atlanta’s inner-city children.
