This collection consists of a receipt from the Crawford, Frazer, and Company to John P. Hulst for two slaves named Henry and Hannah.

Josiah Scrutchin "slave deed"
This collection contains one handwritten "slave deed" from Sumter County, Georgia. The deed states that Josiah Scrutchin bequeathed a woman named Lettice and her child to his son, Samuel Scrutchin. The collection also includes a short Scrutchin genealogy recorded by Josiah Scrutchin's descendant, Elaine Tyler of Atlanta, Georgia.
Kirkpatrick family papers
This collection contains personal letters written by and to the Kirkpatrick family, mainly Nettie Kirkpatrick and her sister Keren Kirkpatrick Lindley. Also included are many death notices for the immediate Kirkpatrick family. Tax records from the 1860s are included. Bill of sales for several slaves are also included. There are several newspaper clippings on various subjects along with several books and pamphlets.

Samuel Boykin Turman papers
This collection contains financial records, including indentures, bills of sale, receipts, and account books. Among the records are two bills of sale for enslaved people in Georgia. Also included in the material are account books, bank books, and a day planner.
Thomas Deaton papers
This collection contains Thomas Deaton's financial, legal, and personal papers, the bulk of which pertain to the Civil War. Financial records include deeds of purchase for land and enslaved persons, as well as affidavits of sales. Also included is a diary he wrote while working at a Confederate hospital in which he recorded personal notes, information about meetings, records of the weather, and copied obituaries. Correspondence documents Deaton’s sale of grain to the Confederate Army.
Thomas Moore slave bill of sale
This collection consists of a bill of sale for two slaves, a man and a woman, from W. L. Adamson to Thomas Moore. The receipt gives a physical description of the two slaves, named Michael and Nann.
United Daughters of the Confederacy collection
This collection includes records of organizational activities of the Georgia division and of several Atlanta chapters.
