Scope and Contents of the Records The majority of this collection documents the professional activities of Dr. Joseph Jacobs, and his son Sinclair Jacobs as proprietors of Jacobs' Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. Among the official records of Jacobs' Pharmacy are samples of labels for products, a notebook and loose papers containing formulae for medicines and cosmetics, product catalogs, copies of Jacob's Monthly Magazine, and official correspondence. Sidney Root papers

Scope and Content This collection contains autobiographic and biographic materials on Sidney Root as well as transcriptions of letters and newspaper articles written by Root. Materials include the manuscripts for Root's unpublished autobiography, Memorandum of My Life and genealogy papers on the Root family. Of particular note is a manuscript of a biography of Root by Walter McElreath, one of the founders of the Atlanta Historical Society.

William Huff Antebellum Atlanta Billhead Collection

Scope and Content This collection contains eleven receipts from William A. Huff’s work as a grocer, for a one year period from August 1859 through August 1860. The receipts are from various grocers in the Atlanta and Marietta areas from whom William Huff purchased goods. There are two receipts from Denmead and Wright, dealers in flour, grain, and millfeed, who were located in Marietta, Georgia.
