Hayden family papers

Scope and Content This collection contains scrapbooks from Julius Hayden and Evelyn Whitner, Julius' granddaughter. Julius' scrapbook contains newspaper clippings from the presidential election of 1860 as well as the first year of the American Civil War. Evelyn's scrapbook contains image clippings mostly of women, children, and animals. Also included in the collection are newspaper clippings from the 1930s and 1940s.

Irene Rose Smillie visual arts collection

Scope and Content This collection contains cased portraits of family members of Irene Rose Smillie. There are images of Smillie's immediate family including her parents, sisters, and brother. There are also images of her mother's family including Smillie's grandfather, aunt, uncle, and cousin. The collection also contains photographs of Gibraltar, taken by Smillie during cruises across the Atlantic Ocean in 1911, as well as two watercolors painted by Smillie.
