This collection contains typed minutes from the first Atlanta Basketball League meeting in which the league was established, officers were elected, and a rules and schedule committee were created. Teams represented in the meeting include Knights of Columbus, General Office, Fifth Infantry, and Wesley House Athletic Club. Shelley Ivey (1879-?), the newly elected secretary, wrote handwritten corrections on the minutes.

The photographs in this collection were taken on June 19, 1908, the occasion of the running of the “Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Special,” the first regular passenger train of the Atlanta Division of the Atlanta, Birmingham, and Atlantic Railroad.
